His kiss across my cheek and neck,
while I kept my face cuddled in the collar
of his coat; and
resewn into the belly of birth, I slept
and flew into time, past an ocean dense as ink
in the dream's intense, black recollection.
So often
I have felt his touch brush my hands and seen
him rushing back into the crowds; a burr
on the lip of the plane's departure,
pushing off against the ocean introspective;
half-eyed; silent.
